Tips & Hints Tips & Hints - Woman's Hair Removal

For Best Shaving Performance
We recommend that you use your new shaver daily for two to three weeks to allow time to find an optimum shaving method for your particular type of hair growth patterns.

Instructions for Use

  • Remove the headguard before shaving.
  • Press the on/off button to turn unit on.
  • After shaving, press the on/off button again to turn the shaver off.
  • Place the unit back on the charging stand for storage and/or recharging.
  • Trimmer Operation
The trimmer slide button, located at the from of the shaver head has three settings that control the position of the trimmer(s):

Setting 1 - Short Hair/Stubble (button all the way to the left): Trimmer(s) retracted out of the way.

Setting 2 - Short and Long Hair/Last Shave Over Two Days Ago (button center position): trimmer(s) at the same level as the foils.

Setting 3 - Long hair (button all the way to the right): Front trimmer pops up to trim longer hair.

To Shave Underarms, Legs, and Bikini Area
    If you shave regularly:

    • Slide the trimmer button to the left (short hair/stubble) or center (short and long hair/last shave over two days ago) position.

    For long hair trimming:

    • Slide the trimmer button all the way to the right to raise the front trimmer.
    • Tip the shaver slightly, allowing the front of the trimmer to glide along the skin to remove long hairs.
    • Move the front trimmer against the direction of hair growth.
    • When finished trimming the long hair, slide the button back to the left (short hair/stubble) or center (short hair long hair/last shave over two days ago) position to remove the remaining short hairs.

Using Shaver with Soap or Foam Lather
When using soap or foam lather the shaver will glide smoothly over the skin, cleannsing away oil residue while at the same time leaving skin soft and smooth.

Apply the soap or foam generously to the skin. Do not use shaving cream of the non-lathering type, nourishing cream or skin lotion.

    Clean Shaver after every use.

    Instructions for Charging
Before charging shaver, wipe off any moisture from the shaver and charging stand. Do not place shaver into charging stand while shaver or hands are wet. Always charge shaver in a cool, dry place.

    • To charge your shaver, connect cord from the charging stand to your electric outlet.
    • Be sure shaver is "OFF" before placing on the charging stand. The green charge indicator light indicates your shaver is charging.
    • Charge shaver for 18-24 hours before using and thereafter as required. Shaver cannot be overcharged so you may leave it on the charging stand between shaves or you may remove it for a week or more before recharging.
    • To avoid damaging the foils, do not push on the foils when inserting the shaver into the charging stand.
    • In order to preserve the life of the batteries, they should be fully discharged every six months and then fully charged for 24 hours.

    Battery Installation and Removal Procedure

    • Unlock the battery cover by turning the end cap of the shaver one quarter turn counterclockwise, and then pull the battery cover away from the main body of the shaver.
    • Install (2) "AA" Alkaline Batteries. Check the Positive (+) and Negative (-) symbols, on the inner frame, to insure proper installation.
    • Align the battery cover with the inner frame and push the battery cover back into position.
    • Once in position, the turn the end cap one quarter turn clockwise to lock the battery cover back in place.
    • For battery removal and replacement, repeat this procedure. Remove old batteries and properly dispose.

    Cleaning Your Shaver
TO ASSURE OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE, WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU CLEAN YOUR SHAVER AFTER EACH USE. The cutting system of this shaver was designed to be cleaned by rinsing under running water or by brushing. (Water temperature should be between 40°C/104°F and 70°C/158°F.)

    Cleaning your shaver is easy.

    • Remove the shaver head by squeezing on both side buttons and pulling away from the body of the shaver. You may blow out the stubble thoroughly, or rinse the shaver head in water.
Important: Never clean the screen with the enclosed brush as damage may occur to the holes in the screens.
    • At least once a week, the cutters and the trimmer should be cleaned with the cleaning brush. You can also rinse the cutter under running water, like the screen.
Caution: Never put the shaver completely under water. Do not use any aggressive cleansing agent as this may destroy the shaver coatings.
    • To clean and lubricate your shaver's cutters and head assembly, apply Remington Shaver Saver (SP-4) Lubricant. The lubricant helps remove hair clippings while reducing wear. A quick spray after each shave keeps your shaver operating at peak performance.
Caution: Do not remove or replace the head assembly while shaver is running as it may cause damage to the unit's screens and cutters.
    • Worn or damaged parts should be replaced with Remington replacement parts only.
    Replacing Screens and Cutters
Because they are subject to daily use, the cutters and screens of your Remington shaver will wear and eventually require replacement to maintain a close, comfortable shave. Depending on your shaving technique and habits, the screens will usually last six months; the cutters, one year.

When is it time to replace your screens and cutters?

It is very important to replace your screens and cutters when necessary to insure a close, comfortable shave without irritation. We recommend they be replaced every 12 months.

Irritation: As foils get worn, you may notice that your skin feels more sensitive after a shave, particularly when you apply after shaver.

Pulling: As cutters wear, your shave may not feel as close and you may feel your shaver is pulling at your whiskers.

Wear-through: You may notice the cutters have worn through the foil.

To find the replacement for your shaver, please visit "Parts & Accessories".

To prevent inadvertent damage to the screen and cutter assembly do not attempt to remove them unless you are replacing them. To remove old screens and cutters follow the instructions that come with the screen and cutter, replacement package. It's always a good idea to replace the screens when you replace the cutters.
