    Straightening Iron Tips

    • Divide hair into manageable sections and clip the upper layers on top of your head and out of the way. Work with underneath layers first.
    • Test straightener on a small section of hair, then adjust the temperature up or down before styling the rest of your hair.
    • Take a small section of hair and pull hair down and away from your scalp, and hold it taut.
    • Starting at the roots, clamp hair firmly between the plates and run the styler down the entire hair strand, from root to tip, in one smooth stroke. Do not hold it in one area for a long period of time or damage to hair may occur.
    • Repeat with all sections of your hair, working with the underneath layers first, then the top and sides.

    Curling Iron Tips

    • Start by dividing hair into sections not more than one inch deep and two inches wide.
    • Keep section smooth by brushing or combing throughit while holding the ends taught with the other hand.
    • Taking a section at a time, place the ends of the hair over the barrel with the clamp open. Then close the clamp, making sure that the ends extend just a tiny bit beyond the clamp.
    • Grasp the safety tip with the other hand and it will be easier to roll hair.
    • Keep the section of the hair taut as you wind it around the hot barrel. Wind the curl toward the scalp as far as you wish to go without touching the scalp with the hot barrel.
    • Hold the curl in place for up to 20 seconds for tight curls or if the hair is hard to curl. Hold for less time if hair is easy to curl or if you want loose curls or waves.
    • When ready to release curl, unwind about a half turn (for longer hair unwind a bit more) and push down on the clamp release lever to open the clamp.
    • Now gently withdraw withdraw the barrel from the center of the curl. Allow curl to cool and try not to disturb curls while proceeding in the same manner around the whole head.
    • When all curls have cooled thoroughly, gently brush or comb hair into the style desired.
    • For a Flip, the clamp should be under the hair while the barrel is over the section of hair at the start of the curl.
    • For Volume and Body, roll hair loosely around the barrel. Allow hair to cool slightly before brushing.

    Hair Drying Tips

    • Keep the dryer about eight inches away from your head to avoid burning your scalp or damaging your hair.
    • Always keep the dryer pointed down the hair shaft to smooth the cuticle and create a silky shiny style.
    • To help prevent heat damage and add shine, spritz damp hair with a heat protection spray before blow drying.
    • To create a style with lots of body, apply volumizing mousse to towel dried hair. Distribute it evenly from roots to ends, then blow dry as usual. Hair will be soft, shiny, and full of volume.
    • For a super smooth, salon-like blow dry, finish by running a straightening iron over dried hair.
    • For a quick touch-up between shampoos, mist hair to dampen it, then style with dryer.

Hair Setter How to Use and FAQs
    How to Use

    • Before setting, hair should be dry or only slightly damp, never wet. Section hair and comb it smooth. Roll hair as usual in the direction of the desired style. To secure each roller, place the proper size color coded clip crosswise over the rollers.
    • Continue until your entire head is set. The time the rollers are left in the hair affects the tightness of the curl. The shorter the time, the softer the curl. Rollers will remain actively curling approximately 15 minutes. If you wish to reuse rollers, return them to the unit for additional heating.
    • To release secured roller, remove each clip and roller gently. Unwind and never pull. Let each new curl spring back into position and cool for a moment. Then brush out hair and style. Spritz hair for extra hold.

    FAQs

    • Will the rollers be too hot touch when they are completely heated?
No. However the end caps of the rollers are made of a different material. They will remain cool when the roller is heated and are designed to be held while rolling your hair for comfort and ease of use.
    • How long should I leave the rollers in my hair?
Depending on the length and texture of your hair, as well as the lightness of the curl you want, timing will vary. Feel free to experiment with shorter and longer time periods.
